| Thinking of going to see The Beatles 'LOVE' with Cirque Du Soleil? My advice is GO NOW - you'll be GOBSMACKED! ** ![]() A very happy Beatle Bunny! I was lucky enough to see LOVE in 2010 when I went to Vegas for my daughters wedding. It was very special to me because years earlier I received emails asking if I could organise and in-depth tour for a company doing research on The Beatles Liverpool. That company turned out to be the Cirque Du Soleil. I was sworn to secrecy at the time and kept true to my word. At the time I had no idea what the show would be like, I just advised the writers, producers, choreographers etc on aspects of The Beatles Liverpool lives over a couple of tour dates. When the show was launched of course I picked up the soundtrack and LOVE LOVE LOVED the new treatments giving the songs we know and love a whole different feel, but never thought I'd get to go see the show itself. Luckily I got this chance in September 2010 when my daughter announced her wedding plans. I turned up all excited at the Mirage Hotel, but somehow, having heard so many rave reviews by Beatle fans, I didn't really think it would live up to my very high expectations...what on earth could be so good about it apart from the music which I'd already heard? I was greeted by the most efficent Theatre staff I have ever seen - dressed beautifully in Lovely Rita costumes - attention to detail even before you enter the theatre is incredible. Sat down in the fab surround sound seats, and then settled down hoping I would enjoy the show :) Wow! I was then treated to the most spetacular innovative event I have ever seen in my life! The stunts were breathtaking, the dancing sublime and I was truly choked when I saw the Liverpool references as it reminded me fo those very early days the Cirque spent with me in Liverpool. Favourite scene was 'Mr Kite' - the stuntman there was simply astonishing..and the skaters in 'Help' performed with such energy and without fear! Lucy In The Sky was beautiful, and Octopus's garden great fun. I saw the show twice that week from the back and front of the theatre. I didnt at first understand why folk had told me the show was different from various viewpoints, but now I totally understand. There is so much going on that you pick up on completely new things every time you go. I wholeheartledly recommend LOVE and hope I get the chance to see it many more times. (**Gobsmacked - Scouse for AMAZED, ASTOUNDED, FLABBERGASTED!) GO SEE! http://www.cirquedusoleil.com |
