| SOME SMALL PRINT: On most tours we get to go INSIDE Ringo's home on Admiral Grove, but this is an extra and not a promise as it all depends on whether Margaret. Liverpool's best ambassador is at home - I wouldn't dream of asking her to stay in for tours as she invites us in out of the goodness of her very big heart! Same goes for St Peters Church Hall - sometimes its open, sometimes not so big bonus for you when it is! The graveyard where Brian Epstein is buried is usually kept locked so its is unusual if we get graveside. Of course it goes without saying that we treat the graves with utmost respect. These are living places and over the years I have built up a great rapport with the people en route without taking them for granted or overstepping the mark. All prices shown are for up to 5 people, but I can organise tours for up to 50. Prices on request, |

Q. But why don't you take us INSIDE Lennon and McCartney's homes?? and other important questions...... 1. The answer is, I can if you want, but there's really no need! The National Trust run the tours to Mendips and Forthlin Road. The only access is via National Trust Mini Bus. Other tours get round this by meeting the mini bus as it arrives at Mendips, and then picks you up from Forthlin Road at the end. This means that for 2 hours you're paying for a driver and guide to hang around waiting - which I am happy to do, but honestly feel you are wasting your money. What I normally suggest is that you spend the day AFTER our tour visiting the homes - you then know where they fit in the whole story and they mean more. The National Trust bus picks up from Jury's Inn at Albert Dock at 10am, takes in the two homes and arrives back around 12.30. Time for lunch and then spend the afternoon at Beatles Story. Another fab day in the life. IF you only have one day, then if you take the National Trust Tour at 10am, I can then meet you AFTER the tour at Paul McCartneys and we can adjust the 'Ticket To Ride' tour around the times, You can book both the National Trust Trip (only certain days) and Beatles Story at www.nationaltrust.org.uk/beatles and www.beatlesstory.com Q. So where EXACTLY do we go on your tours? A.. Its like the Colonels secret recipe! Due to the number of copycat tours out there nowadays, I dont publish a full list of locations online. I will provide them on an email if requested on the understanding that you burn after reading! Whilst its an open market out there, I've spent over 15 years working out tour routes to make the best tours I can, and when I find my tours copied word for word on other websites it can be frustrating. There are enough Beatle fans in the World to keep an army of tour guides busy, but the newbies can go work out their own routes as I did in 1995. If there is a specific site you wish to see just ask. Q. So why don't we see you in the Tourist Board Brochure? A. Because the only criteria now to be a member of the tourism body in Liverpool is money. Guides dont have to be accredited and there is no regulation. As long as they pay a fee they can be in the brochure or the website. I am a member indirectly via the Association of Liverpool Tourist Guides (www.qualifiedtoguide.com) but I dont need to pay to advertise because 100% of my bookings come from word of mouth or via this website. Q. But why are your tours are so much more expensive than some others? A. Hopefully I've answered that question already, but the taxi tours and most of the other driver guides (not all - check before you book) are simply drivers doubling up as unqualified guides. If you are on a budget or not such a huge fan, then these do the trick, although can be a bit hit and miss. If you are an avid fan and want a tour where you can chat Beatles for hours, while another driver does all the work, then my tours are the best ones for you. You can book a £50 taxi tour with my ex-taxi driver, George Yuen on george@beatleguides.com. |
